Make your way to Grand Ballroom at Navy Pier for a premium hosted ticket reception at the bar from 8:15 p.m. until 1:30 a.m. There are a whopping 30 premium bars at the event, so you’ll never have to worry about a long wait. General admission also grants guests access to an impressive buffet spread and hors d’oeuvres, and a DJ will be playing music all night long. When the clock strikes midnight, you can enjoy a complimentary champagne toast, plus private access to the fireworks show.

2. Chi-Town Rising

Head to the Chicago River for one of the biggest parties in the country. Chi-Town Rising is free of charge, but tickets are required. Just register on their website.

The evening will feature celebrity and musical guests and a countdown to midnight, complete with fireworks. The event attracts more than 100,000 attendees.

You can also purchase tickets to the Corona Extra Beach House inside the Hyatt Regency hotel. With a fun indoor beach theme, it offers a nice break from the brutal Chicago cold.

3. New Year’s Eve at The Drake

December 31, 2016, 9 p.m.

Visit the beautiful Drake Hotel and party down with 3,000 people on Chicago’s famous Magnificent Mile. General admission grants guests access to three ballrooms of entertainment, premium top-shelf liquor, and hors d’oeuvres. Plus, there are more than 40 fully staffed bars, so you’ll never have to worry about going thirsty.

4. Crystal Gardens New Year’s Eve

Crystal Gardens is the place to see and be seen this NYE. General admission includes premium top-shelf drinks and a food station, a midnight champagne toast, and complimentary party favors. When the clock strikes midnight, head to the private terrace to watch the fireworks. With more than 20 bars, the drinks are sure to be flowing. They’ll also have a red carpet step and repeat for a photo op and a DJ who will have you dancing all night long.
