The Irish American Heritage Center’s annual day-long St. Patrick’s Day celebration in the Fifth Province pub features live music and dance from Finbarr Fagan’s Band, The Chancey Brothers and the O’Hare School of Irish Dance, to name a few. Of course, no St. Patrick’s Day celebration would be complete without authentic food and drink.
The party kicks off at noon and runs until midnight. Tickets are $10 for adults; kids 12 and under are free.
Sweetwater Tavern and Grille

If you want to drink all day and party all night, head to Sweetwater. The Michigan Avenue tavern has St. Patrick’s Day events going on for most of March. The celebrations officially kick off on Saturday, March 11 at 9 a.m. It’s just blocks from the Chicago River, so you’ll be able to watch as it’s dyed green.
Afterward, head to the St. Pat’s Patio Party for bagpipers, a live DJ and a photo booth, as well as plenty of traditional Irish food and drink. Sweetwater will be offering Irish food specials for most of March, like a corned beef Reuben, Guinness lamb stew and shepherd’s pie.

If you’re the type who likes to spend the entire day celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, you’ll want to start off the festivities by heading to Bar Louie for their breakfast buffet. Take advantage of half-price select appetizers and flatbreads from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Bar Louie will also offer green beer and Jameson shot specials all night. Plus, you’ll be able to catch the March Madness games on the big screens.
