Attitudes are like…well…you may have heard the quote. It ends with “every one has one, and everyone thinks everybody else’s stinks”. Attitudes can be good, bad, or indifferent, and are personally attached to each of us.
For a limousine company, interacting with clients is routine, and having a positive attitude will be the difference between keeping them happy and chasing them away. Having a good attitude is not something everyone is capable of. People with bad attitudes have made a conscious choice to be miserable, and if you have employees that deal directly with customers, you can’t afford to have them do so with bad attitudes.
Identifying bad attitudes in your office is important for another reason; they can create a toxic environment for employees. Bad attitudes can be contagious, and may ultimately destroy the productivity and morale of an office.
Some people confuse mood with attitude. However, a bad mood is not the same as a bad attitude. A mood is typically temporary, where an attitude is more permanent. And interestingly enough, someone with a good attitude can overcome a bad mood more quickly than someone with a poor attitude.
A company would be well served to deal swiftly with poor attitudes. It is well worth the time spent in advance to avoid problems later.
