Spring weather is always a welcome change of pace for Chicagoans. After spending the winter trapped inside, spring is finally here and with it, warmer temperatures, sunshine and more time spent outdoors.
For those of you eager to plan a spring kickoff event in Chicago, we recommend planning a Chicago area wine tour with you and your friends. March is the time many of the area’s wineries that close for the winter are finally reopening their tasting rooms.
OML Worldwide in Chicago is proud to provide luxury transportation for wine tour groups of all sizes, allowing you to relax, enjoy time with your friends and not have to worry about getting home on your own.
To help you start planning your spring wine tour, we’re sharing a list of some of the best vineyards and wineries in Chicagoland.
42150 N Crawford Road, Antioch, IL 60002
This charming vineyard and winery is in Antioch, just over an hour north of Chicago. Vigneto del Bino has everything you could want for your wine tour: a scenic, bucolic location surrounded by natural beauty, a tasting room where you can sample some of the winery’s finest wines and a gift shop where you can purchase your favorites from the day.
Vigneto del Bino’s tasting room will reopen for regular hours in mid-March.
5175 Aptakisic Road, Long Grove, IL 60047
This 20-acre estate in Long Grove produces 20 different types of wine from its 25 grape varieties, giving you and your group a chance to sample a range of tastes during your visit. Your trip to their tasting room gives you the opportunity to enjoy a tasting with five of their wines, and you can also take part in their wine seminar while you’re there. Take a tour of the vineyard for a small fee, if that’s more your style, or add a cheese plate to your tasting menu to make a little picnic out of your visit.
Valentino Vineyards & Winery’s tasting room is open May through December on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
