Part of the challenge in a global economy is maintaining a “geographically local” identity as you branch out into the world stage. This is something we have been wrestling with for almost a decade, as our worldwide business continues to expand. It is made more difficult because our name is composed of two local airport names…certainly a great idea in the mid-1950’s, but a significant obstacle for potential customers to overcome in the high-tech age of the millennial.
O’Hare-Midway Limousine Service is known in the Chicagoland area as a trusted and reliable ground transportation provider. Since 1956, we have been part of the travel and vacation plans of thousands of customers. However, our local history doesn’t play as well in other markets, where they have their own airports to identify with. When O’Hare-Midway began making a name for itself globally (about 9 years ago), clients would often ask us why they should trust us to arrange their travel in other cities when we only go to O’Hare and Midway airports?
OML WORLDWIDE Transportation and Events accurately represents to new vision of our company. While we are still a trusted and reliable transportation option to our Chicagoland clientele, we are also part of a vast network of partner companies that offer the same great service to hundreds of destination cities around the world. We will never completely abandon the O’Hare-Midway name, but we will be integrating the OML name into more and more of what we do.
Whichever way people want to refer to us, O’Hare-Midway Limousine Service or OML WORLDWIDE Transportation and Events, they will find the same high quality company, built on a strong foundation of customer satisfaction that dates back to the presidential administration of Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Think about that for a while…
