It’s baseball in Chicago, and I am a Cub fan. I was born in an era where you didn’t root for both the north and south side teams. That was nonsense, and as far as I’m concerned, and it still is. If you say you’re a Chicago baseball fan, you are saying you reserve the right to jump on whichever bandwagon you wish based on who is having the best year. This is contrary to how I grew up, and went against what I believe to be baseball tradition. I like the Yankees. I’m not a Yankee Fan, but I love the tradition that comes along with the Yankees. I’ll root for the Yankees over the White Sox, or any other team except the Cubs for that matter.
When it comes to football, I live and die with the Chicago Bears. If another football team set up shop in Chicago, I would still be a Bears fan. I wouldn’t be a Chicago football fan. That defies what I consider tradition. However…I like the Pittsburgh Steelers. I’m not a fan, but I like them, and root for them against everyone…except the Bears. I like the Steeler tradition. You’d think I’d like the Green Bay Packers too, because of their tradition, but I’m a Bears fan. Being a Bears fan makes me genetically predisposed to hating all things that are “Packers”.
Tradition means different things to different people. Many of us associate tradition with family and holidays. Some equate tradition with a specific place or event. But however you define tradition, there are certain traits that they probably all share; familiarity, comfort, family, and pride.
At O’Hare-Midway Limousine Service in Chicago, we have been part of thousands of family traditions. Over the years, we have witnessed young travelers grow to adulthood and become customers with their own children. Those “new” clients traveled with us for spring breaks and proms, and eventually went off to college, only to come back to town and become another generation of traveler. It’s a “circle of life” kind of thing.
When people are looking for a limousine service in Chicago, it’s likely they’ll be looking for us. Several Chicago limo services have used OML as a model for their companies, taking the best of what we offer and incorporating it into their business models.
We’re proud of who we are, and how we got here. We’re proud of our tradition of quality service, affordable pricing, new vehicles, and longevity in the market. We’re proud of our people…our office staff…and our chauffeurs. But mostly, we’re proud of our customers. They have proven over and over that O’Hare-Midway is the right choice for them, their family, and their friends, and we welcome them as part of the O’Hare-Midway tradition.
