What I Learned at This Year’s LCT Show

Last week was the largest annual limousine convention in Las Vegas held, by our friends at LCT Magazine.  Each year we are treated to new ideas and vehicles along with great opportunities to meet with our affiliate friends around the country.  Below are 3 things I learned from these meetings that we will be bringing back to our Chicago limousine service.

No one has chosen the next best livery vehicle – After almost three years of viewing and testing, there is no clear cut winner in the livery vehicle sweepstakes.  The Cadillac XTS and Mercedes-Benze E Class seem to be the front runners for the sedan side of our business while the Lincoln “New Town Car” looks to be the leader in the stretch limousine sphere.

The Sprinter Van is taking over – The Mercedes Sprinter Van has been and industry workhorse for about 5 years now.  As this vehicle has grown with the times, the options available are increasing greatly.  With luxurious interiors, dependable drivetrain, and sleek exterior styling the Sprinter is quickly becoming the corporate traveler’s alternative to stretch limos.

Technology, technology, technology – As with any other business technology is booming for the limousine industry.  From GPS integrating with dispatch to incorporation of travel industry GDS software into our livery systems, all of these look to be great advancements for limousine operators everywhere.  There is even a new chauffeur training system being developed that may well totally change the way companies teach their chauffeurs.
