A Collegiate Comparison

In any business, you are confronted by competitors of various types – unless you’re an established monopoly – in which case that statement made no sense.

In the limousine service industry and in Chicago specifically, the level of competition is reminiscent of a college football conference. There are some strong and solid teams at the top of the heap, some poor teams at the bottom, and everyone else seems to fall somewhere in between. A few bad breaks can move someone from the middle of the pack to the bottom, and a few lucky breaks can move you from the middle to the top. However, the same dynamics don’t usually apply to the powerhouse or the doormats. An upper echelon team will most likely survive a tough loss or two and remain a top seed, while a bottom of the pile team will need more than a break or two to pull them out of the mud. Perennial powerhouses don’t just happen, nor do perennial doormats.

Teams with long and successful traditions tend to have the same strengths in common; good people, solid game plan, the best in facilities and equipment, and an overwhelming desire to succeed. Teams that regularly perform poorly tend to lack these things. Solid teams anticipate problems and adapt to adversity. Weak teams do not. A strong team is usually strong from top to bottom and deep at key positions, where weak teams have gaps within their structure.

At O’Hare-Midway Limousine Service, we feel we have a strong team. For 57 years, we have been providing limousine service in Chicago and surrounding suburbs. We may have bounced around the middle of the conference in the past, but we believe we are now an upper echelon team and perennial powerhouse in the Chicago limousine market. And we believe this because we share the same strengths that those strong college football teams have; good people, solid game plan, best in facilities and equipment, and an overwhelming desire to succeed. We are very good at anticipating problems and we quickly adapt to adversity. We feel we are solid from the top down and deep at key positions. O’Hare-Midway Limousine Service is a strong team, and we are proud of the reputation we’ve built in the Chicago area over our long and storied history. Along the way, we’ve encountered a lot of poor teams that say they are powerhouses. But when the game is over, we almost always end up on top, and we owe that not only to our team…but to our fans as well. They are the reason we are so focused. We are committed to our followers, and will do what it takes to satisfy them.

Being a winner isn’t always easy, and staying on time requires a lot of work. But in the end, it’s what the upper echelon teams do, and why they are upper echelon teams to begin with. O’Hare-Midway Limousine Service is one of those teams, and we’ll continue to be one for a long time.
